Sphera Antiques is a family run business based in the picturesque and tranquil West Cumbria.
Our love of antique and unique items, merged over into a business several years ago, and since its conception has grown and developed into more than we could have possibly envisaged.
We believe the reason for our success is that customer care is the cornerstone of our mission statement, and we pride ourselves on our integrity and only selling items we would be happy and proud to have in our own collections. Knowing there are people who have the same love as we do for the items we buy and sell is deeply gratifying to us.
Between us we have over 40 year’s experience in the Antiques market and also in Logistics.
We specialise in a wide range of antiques and vintage items including militaria, jewellery, collectables, curiosities, retro and unique one of a kind items.
A huge effort is placed into sourcing 100% authentic items, that we believe our customers will be proud to own, and because of our own love for antiques, it seems we cannot stop ourselves buying, so new stock is added on an almost daily basis.
We look forward to providing you with items you will love and cherish for many years to come!
We also run a war time themed tea rooms, located inside Sphera Antiques, serving fresh locally sourced sweet treats, sandwiches, cream teas etc.

2019-09-07 at 11:04 AMToday I was lucky enough to be treated to Afternoon Tea at Sphera Antiques, Workington, by my very thoughtful best friend. I didn’t expect to want to rush back from my birthday surprise today so that I could write a review about it, but once I’d raved about it at home, I just had to come and tell all of you about it too.
Sphera Antiques is a hidden gem in Workington. As an antique business, the Sphera gang have been trading online for 6 years, but decided to open a store, which welcomed customers for the first time eight weeks ago. From the second we walked into the shop, we could just feel how much love had been poured into it. It’s a family business in what used to be a local pub, but I didn’t recognise it as somewhere I used to dance and do shots! The transformation into an Aladdin’s cave of antiques is amazing. There’s a section of the shop that’s now the Pennyfarthing Tea Room, which was our venue for the afternoon.
Now for the important information… the food! There was a selection of sandwiches, scotch eggs and pork pies, as well as a collection of homemade cakes. The cherry on the top was the trifle. Delicious! The food is all locally sourced and beautifully made. You can call in for breakfast, light lunches and cakes and cuppas, as well as cream teas and Afternoon Teas. As I have said, my Afternoon Tea was a generous treat for my birthday, so I’m not aware of how much it cost. I can say that everything else on the menu was very reasonably priced, so I am sure that the Afternoon Tea would follow suit.
It was really nice to look around at the antiques after we had eaten. They have some wonderful trinkets, jewellery, furniture and militaria. I bought myself a £5 Lucky Dip of jewellery and got some fabulous pieces!
The staff were friendly and accommodating, without being intrusive. The whole atmosphere and ambiance was just perfect. The 1940s music and newspapers made for an authentic experience. It was more than an Afternoon Tea. It was a very special way to begin my birthday celebrations. I cannot recommend Sphera Antiques highly enough!
